I photographed this at breakfast this morning from the side of a cereal box. I think that this "Allergy Advice" is a great summation of how NOT to do things. I also think that it must have been written by a moonlighting bank executive :

What an amazingly useless piece of drivel !

And what actual advice is it giving ???

To paraphrase it :

  • We didn't put nut's in it
  • But there may be nuts in it
  • We didn't put them there but maybe evil pixies did
  • If you're allergic to nuts you're taking a 50/50 chance with this cereal
  • If I was you I wouldn't eat these
  • If you feel that you have to eat them best eat them in an emergency room
  • Look , no point getting annoyed at me
  • I don't make the darned nut infested things
  • I just write the warnings
  • I really wanted to be a trapeze Artist

Compare that load of nonsense to any Apple product you ever bought. Enough technology in your little paw to direct an Apollo mission to the moon and back and with a beautiful three page instruction booklet that a child could follow. Steve Jobs will be missed.

At chateau Brix the weekly emotional rollercoaster that we're on can reach some gut wrenching lows and , thankfully, incredibly dizzying heights. It's the highs and the memory of them that gets us through the lows.

This week when things seemed a little bleak and every request we made seemed to be greeted with an "Allergy Advice" type reply ,the clouds parted and two "Steve Jobs" like figures came to our aid, let's call them The Princess and The Hut. Good things arrive when you least expect them and it can be a truly humbling experience....even for me !

So , in that vein, I humbly offer a simply brilliant Jack Wolfskin jacket as a prize this week to the best answer to this weeks question :
