Do Safety Boots and Workwear make good Christmas presents?

( Of course not...just how shallow do you think we are ???)

The ongoing saga between myself, Paul the Good, and my arch nemesis John "Darth" Bond continues......

Last week we had a great response from our lovely subscribers and the overwhelming majority favoured my "fluffy" approach to blogging rather than Darth's ruthless, mercenary pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap philoosophy. But John's lust to manouvre Brix Workwear , Monaghan's 4the largest workwear store , into third place knows no bounds.

"OK", he said , " So a few misguided souls seem to have nothing better to do on a Friday than to read your rambling prose, they're probably the same people who like Christams. Why not combine the two and flog them workwear and safety boots as Christmas presents ?"

I have seen websites selling car parts, sausages, weightlifting equipment, pet supplies, carpet and even medical supplies all dress their wares with a bit of tinsel, a spray of green and red, perhaps a jolly fat man with a beard all in the crassest, meanest fashion in order to desperately link their wares with Christmas. And this one featuring my brother John moonlighting in Curry's sum them up :
Darth Vader in Currys ?

What has Darth got to do with Curry's ?

As long as I have a breath in my body I will not lower myself , or abuse the trust , nay friendship of our wonderful Brixies , by shamelessly abusing the great Christams holiday with a cobbled together list of things they should buy for their loved ones ....certainly not until at least a week closer to Christmas !
Brix outdoors
This is the lovely scene we arrived to this morning at Brix. And it has put us in a Christmas mood. We are still running our iPad competition which will be drawn from the entries received from the last three weeks competition, today's and the next two Fridays . The winner of last week's €100 voucher is the one and only Sinead Codd who not only resisted the dark side, answered the question correctly but also is the first person ever to say that they looked forward to my music selection !

This weeks competition centres on a Christmas theme and, as always has two parts, ( principally to keep Darth happy , one part has to refer to the site ). Again teh prize this week is a €100 voucher for use on Brix and a chance to enter the draw for an iPad2 :
1. What was the best Christmas present you ever received ?
2. If Santa could only bring you a present from Brix, what would you pick ?

Cheers,
Paul

P.S. This week I have been listening to Jane Siberry and K.D. Lang's "Calling All Angels"
