Don't Look a Gift Sock in the Mouth

( The ongoing battle for the very soul of the Brix Blog)

Last week I revealed to the world the Cain and Abel style struggle that was taking place in Brix Workwear, Monaghan's 4th largest workwear store, between the forces of good ( i.e. Me) and evil, ( i.e. my brother John ), for the heart and soul of this blog.

I , obviously , was quite happy to continue in the erratic fashion that I've become accustomed to , highlighting my various peccadilloes and people , music, events and random thoughts as I saw fit.

John, while not busy "fumbling in the greasy till", is arguing strongly that my, sorry, our precious blog should be "used" to sell our wares. This crass commercialisation of this great art form that is blogging, does not sit well with me. Quite frankly I think it is an abuse of our wonderful customers, subscribers and dare I say, friends.

So , last week, we reached a compromise ....of sorts. I'm "allowed" to continue the blog if I can somehow delicately crowbar in a reference to some merchandise or other that John is lustily trying to convert into filthy lucre. We launched a competition, details of last weeks winner of the €100 voucher at the bottom. And are continuing this week with the offer of another voucher plus before Christmas we will be picking the best entry of the past few weeks for an iPad2.

This week it's all about socks. Between now and Christmas we are giving away free pair of Haix Multi Function Socks worth €12 with every pair of Haix boots bought on Brix :

Haix Sock Puppet

This particularly ferocious looking sock is actually the Haix Multi function sock and is a trully wonderful comfortable creature.

So this week's competition is :

1.What are your favourite socks ? Send us a photo !

2. What ludicrously low price are the Haix Multi Function Socks on Brix ?

The winner of last week's €100 voucher is Thomas McGauran who's epic story of his Tug o' War team will have to have a page of it's own some day. The infamous Edmund Johnston was disqualified for sending in an image of Boot's the chemists logo.

Cheers ,

Paul

P.S. This week I am listening, repeatedly , to Harvey Danger's classic Flagpole Sitta

P.P.S Yes, I did make the sock puppet myself !
