Footie...is it just a guy thing ?

Tomorrow marks the start of the English Premiership football season and as we here at Brix, the fourth largest workstore in Monaghan, start to get excited at the prospect of another footie fest I wondered why it seems to be an almost exclusivly male passion, or is it ?

Our loyalties are split here between the glorious Man Utd , Liverpool and ......Norwich. But among the ladies at Brix not a hint of affection for anyone, apart from a forlorn " Who does Beckham play for now ?".

My all time hero was Eric Cantona, I loved this poster and had it on my wall for ages :

There are many great moments , this video shows some Eric Cantona - I am not a man, I am Cantona

The Scouse fraternity here seem to agree that Dagleish is there all time favourite and he was pretty special, here are some highlights of King Kenny.

Buy why oh why do ladies not get the passion, anger, fun, love and sheer joy that football brings ? Is it for the same reason in reverse that I detest all Meg Ryan movies ? Or do ladies simply not like team sports ?

Anyway , before i get into any bother i would like to offer a little prize this week to aid you in the support of your team, a Carhartt jacket that is windproof , waterproof and breathable and darned comfortable to boot. And just in case there is a female footie fan out there, that's genuinely interested and not simply trying to impress her partner we will offer a ladies Carhartt Womens Jacket too !

In order to win your choice of jacket you need to answer these two questions on the bottom of today's blog :

1. Who is your favourite player and why ?

2. How many styles of socks do we stock in Brix ?

Good Luck,

Paul
