Go with a smile

Summer holidays are coming to an end, ( Boo ! ), and we're trying to cram in as many extra curricular activities as we can while we still have bright evenings. On Saturday we opened up Brix Workwear, the 4th largest workstore in Monaghan , for the first time. Initially it was simply to allow a gentleman from Armagh , who works in Scotland , to collect a pair of Haix Climber boots. But once other people saw a couple of cars parked outside and realised we were open we had a steady stream of curious customers.

Almost every person that called in said that Saturday suited them much better to call in to the store as they are busy during the week. We sold a lot of goods to customers that we wouldn't normally see simply by opening on a Saturday. As that annoying meerkat says ...Simples.

It is so easy sometimes to help people out and yet we seem to over engineer everything to make it as difficult as possible.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed serving people in the shop on Saturday , extolling the merits of the Haix Airpower 21 and convincing a Snickers loyalist to try a pair of Carhartt work trousers. It was good too to chat to people without having to hurry them along, just taking the time to find out what people actually use the boots and trousers that we sell for.

I bounced home on Saturday afternoon feeling a little lighter and closer to the universe.

I crammed myself into my wetsuit got the kids into the car and braved Holywood lake once more. To give you an idea of how magnificent I looked here is a photo from our coasteering exploits in Pembroke.

I hope that made you smile !

So Monday is off to a good start.

I am reinforcing my good mood by listening to Marcus Childs's uplifting talks in the background, well worth a listen.

Winners of the Carhartt socks from Friday's blog are Jolly John Roberts and Joking Joe Daly. Your toes will be cosy in two days lads.

This weeks competition will have a happy theme and a happy prize, keep an eye out.

Cheers,

Paul

P.S. Today I am listening to World Party's "Put the message in a box"
