Save Gerry's Job !
For those of you who have yet to meet the cuddly mountain of a man that is our IT whiz kid , here is a picture taken of him in his natural environment :
Gerry is a fantastic asset to our company Brix Workwear, (the fourth largest work store in Monaghan ) , a proud advocate of theHaix Montana hunting boots a technical genius and a darned nice chap to boot. Our appreciation of Gerry borders on true love, but he sorely tested this affection lately, and to be honest , between you and me, his very employment is hanging by a thread.
"Why ?" I hear you cry.
Well, last week Gerry came up with the fantastic idea of using an email newsletter service provider to send out our eagerly anticipated and highly regarded newsletter and quite liberally added in everyone he knew to the list. This had the adverse effect of having us cautioned as a "spammer" by the email people and has left us now in fear of our lives and terrfiied to send out our newsletter.
Gerry , being a technical whizz kid, has come up with the solution of simplt deleting all of our subscribers and staring again. Brilliant ! It has taken us a year to build a list and now he simply wants me to delete it.
Gerry ,you see , has complete faith in your desire to keep abreast of our wonderful newsletter and is convinced that everyone will sign up again.
I have decided that I will take him at his word and delete the newsletter subscription list and start again.
But in order to inject a little humour , well I find it humorous, I've decided that if we get less than 500 people to sign up Gerry, as much as we love him, will lose his job. However , if we get over 1,000 subscriptions I will personally donate £500 to the great Water 4 Life charity.
As well as subscribing to our newsletter anyone that leaves a comment answering these two questions will be entered into a draw for a Carhartt tee of their choice :
1. Why shouldn't I sack Gerry ?
2. How reassuringly expensive areGerry's favourite boots, the Haix Montana ?
So before you flit off for the weekend, spare a thought for Gerry and sign up to our newsletter by clicking HERE !
Cheers,
Paul
P.S. Today I am listening to The Church, no not that one, and their fantastic Under the Milky Way
P.P.S I am feeling torn now between my random act of charity and a growing desirre to really sack Gerry....
