Working Man...

I came across this photo that I had taken a while ago and labelled it "Working Man". As it features my brother Stephen you may think that I was being ironic..certainly anyone who knows Stephen will definitely believe that irony was not a million miles away as the photo was being tagged.

Stephen is kitted out completely in CAT workwear and I have to say, reluctantly, that he doesn't look half bad. And he almost gives the impression that he knows what he's doing...almost.

It led me on to think that over the last couple of years there are lots of folks that have been forced by a change in circumstance to do things they wouldn't neccessarily have chosen and have little choice but to get on with things. It's not easy. I know from personal experience how earth shattering this can be and how difficult it can be to dust yourself down and try and get started again.

But you can do it. It is always darkest before the dawn.

Anyway, good old Lizzie was here this week and what a sprighly lady she is for all of her 85 years. Rumours abound of sightings of her all over the country and I'm sure I saw her coming out of McConnon's in Old Cross Square with 20 John Player Blue and a Choc-Ice this morning. It seems to have given the country a little lift and has certainly distracted the doom mongers in the newspapers here from the economy for a few minutes.

I think that President McAleese has also done us proud this week.Her speech at Dublin Castle at the State Banquet was just perfect.

We are a week behind on the launch of our Terrific Thursday , so it will be next week before it starts. It will be well worth waiting for and we are endeavouring to make it fun, useful and maybe do a little good and help someone out.
